Travel to the Land of Waterways |

 Saturday, Sept 16 th, 2006, a group of teachers and students of the Department of Vietnamese Studies and Vietnamese Language for Foreigners participated in a tour to Mekong Delta, called “Travel to the Land of Waterways”.
The tour was designed by Ben Thanh Tourist Company. They visited Dong Tam’s Snake Farm in TienGiang Province, went boating on the Mekong River (Song Tien). On Cồn Quy (Turtle Island), one island of Mekong River, the teachers and students of the Department of Vietnamese Studies participated in a farming activity called “bail water out of the ditch to catch fish” and listened to “đờn ca tài tử Nam Bộ” (a kind of music performance appeared in the early 20th century, of which the origin from folk in South Vietnam). The excursion made an unforgettable impression to everyone who participated in the tour. |
