A Under-graduate Student Conference of the Dept. of Vietnamese Studies was held on Sat morning, May the 26th. Six papers including 4 accepted as university level conference reports and two as department level reports were presented by Vietnamese Studies students.

The papers were about 6 different topics: (1) An investigation of the Korean Community in Phu My Hung town, (2) Korean Cuisine,  (3) Economic relations between Vietnam and Korea, (4) Thanh Ha-Hoi An pottery village, (5) Hoi An’s traditional lantern. And the last paper was an impressive work conducted by a group of students who translated a book of Korean proverbs and idioms by Shin Hu Seop into Vietnamese.

The conference firstly was an event supporting the Graduate Student Conference Week (21/5-26/5/2007) launched by the university, and secondly aimed to provide the Vietnamese Studies students with research skills and methods.  

Also, on the same date another conference was held for all teachers of the Dept. with a focus on “Curriculum and Teaching Methods of Vietnamese Studies”. Many teachers attended and 23 papers were presented.
