Faculty of Vietnamese studies Annual Research Conference was held on 8th August 2009. This year's conference theme is Vietnamese language teaching methods, especially teaching methods for foreign students, focusing on the 4 skills listening, speaking, reading and writing. The annual Faculty research conference has been organized regularly as a venue for scientific exchange, aiming to enhance faculty staff members' teaching and research skills.

Following the Faculty Research conference, Faculty of Vietnamese studies (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hochiminh city) and the Faculty of Vietnamese studies and Vietnamese language for foreigners (University of Social Sciences and Humanities, Hanoi) are organizing a joint research conference in Binh Chau, Ba Ria - Vung Tau. This year's joint conference between the two faculties also focus on teaching methods of Vietnamese as a foreign language as well as skills development for non-native speakers of Vietnamese.

Up till now, the joint conference organizers have received around 50 research papers from faculty staff members and researchers of the two faculties.
