A team-building workshop was held by Faculty of Vietnamese studies for faculty staff members on June 13 and 14, 2009 in Vung Tau city.

35 faculty staff members, including both senior and junior faculty, participated in the workshop. The formal workshop discussion program includes 4 presentations on different topics: “team work” (Dr. Nguyễn Văn Huệ), “sharing some experience in academic research” (AssProf. Dr Phan Thị Yến Tuyết), “sharing some experience in teaching Vietnamese” (Dr. Nguyễn Hoàng Trung), and “Student clubs and Vietnamese culture club activities” (Trần Thị Kim Anh (MA.) and Nguyễn Thị Phương Chi (MA.)).

The workshop program was useful in helping participants enhance essential skills to work effectively in a team and discuss various issues related to team building and team work. The 2 - day workshop was also an excellent opportunity for participants to mingle, get to know each other and together build the team spirit. In addition, participants formed groups and worked on group's agenda and detailed action plans.

Faculty staff members have positively reported on the workshop's success and their satisfaction. Participants are expected to draw on what they have learnt during the workshop to develop and apply skills for effective team work in the real work context at the Faculty.
