Oriental Festival 2008, co - organized by Faculty of Oriental studies and Faculty of Vietnamese studies (VNS), was held on University of Social Sciences and Humanities campus on 25th and 26th of April, 2008. The festival was a roaring success with stage performances,  "Oriental night"  performance program,  "Oriental charm"  student talent contest as well as a variety of cultural stalls introducing Oriental cultures, traditional games and food stalls etc.

The festival lured a great number of current students of Faculty of Oriental studies, Faculty of Vietnamese studies as well as other Faculties of the University.

Students of Faculty of Vietnamese studies have proactively taken part in all activities throughout the two - day festival. Ms. Kim Young Suk, a 4th - year student of Vietnamese studies bachelor degree program, won the 2nd prize in "Oriental charm" student talent contest. In addition, international food stalls where original dishes and drinks from Korea, Turkey and Vietnam are served by Korean, Turkish and Japanese students also got the 1st prize in the festival cuisine program.

Moreover, VNS cultural booth introducing cultures represented in our Faculty such as Turkish culture and Korean culture as well as stage performances and traditional games organized by VNS international students attracted a very high number of students and were warmly recieved by festival participants.

VNS international students' active participation in this year's Oriental festival program brought a touch of intercultural diversity into this event and was regarded as one of the highlights of the entire festival program.
