During February 2008, Faculty of Vietnamese studies has welcome students from many different universities across Asia. Welcoming students from NanYang Technological University (NTU), Singapore On February 2nd, 2008 (4th of January in lunar calendar), the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies welcome a group of 12 students from NanYang Technological University (Singapore). The NTU students will attend a one - month Vietnamese language course as well as a series of introductory lectures on Vietnamese culture, history and society. Upon completion of courses in Faculty of Vietnamese studies, the students will subsequently start working as interns in a number of companies and factories in HCM City and Binh Duong for the following 5 months. This is the first batch of students dispatched to Faculty of Vietnamese studies from NTU. Welcoming students from Chungwoon University, South Korea On February 16th, 2008, a group of 10 Korean students from Chungwoon University (South Korea) were also warmly welcome by Faculty of Vietnamese studies staff upon arrival at Tan Son Nhat airport, Hochiminh city. This is the first cohort of students from Chungwoon University who will be studying at Faculty of Vietnamese studies for 1 to 2 years towards their Bachelor degree in Vietnamese studies under the bilateral agreement signed between the two universities. In January 2008, another 18 students from Chungwoon University have also been welcome in our Faculty for one month Vietnamese language program.
On February 18th, 2008, the Spring Term opening ceremony has been held for a group of 6 APU students who will be attending a 5-week Vietnamese language course at our Faculty. Upon successful completion of the course, these students may obtain 4 convertible credits for Vietnamese language. During their stay, apart from language course, APU students will also take part in a field trip to the Mekong delta area. This is the third batch of APU students dispatched to our Faculty under the cooperative training agreement signed between APU and USSH - HCMC.
Welcoming students from Kokushikan University, Japan On February 2008, the Faculty of Vietnamese studies welcome Dr. Tô Hoằng and 6 students from Kokushikan (Japan). These 6 students will study Vietnamese language at VNS for 3 weeks, from 16/2/2008 to 04/3/2008. The cooperative program between the two universities started in 2003. On this occasion, Dr. Tô Hoằng also met and discussed with Prof. Vo Van Sen, President of USSH.
