Purposes

The Faculty of Vietnamese Studies of the USSH specializes in producing international Vietnamese Studies graduates who have a degree in modern Vietnamese language and obtain basic knowledge about geography, history, culture, economics, society and the people of Vietnam.
The VNS Dept. of the PUFS specializes in producing ‘experts’ in Vietnamese Studies. These ‘experts’ are expected to apply their Vietnamese language fluencies and understandings about culture, society and politics of Vietnam to strengthening international and cultural relations.
Two universities share the same goal of training Vietnamese Studies graduates who are ensured to obtain good skills in using Vietnamese and be able to apply their understandings about various fields of Vietnam to their future career.
Students are awarded the degree once they complete 70 credits at the USSH. Then, they are able to start working in fields of economics, culture and society.
Besides, the graduates are also able to teach Vietnamese, do translation and further their studies in postgraduate programs of Linguistics, History, Economics and Oriental Studies

Target Students:

Those who are from the VNS Dept. of the PUFS and selected to transfer to the Program.
