Oriental Festival 2008, co - organized by Faculty of Oriental studies and Faculty of Vietnamese studies (VNS), was held on University of Social Sciences and Humanities campus on 25th and 26th of April, 2008. The festival was a roaring success with stage performances, "Oriental night" performance program, "Oriental charm" student talent contest as well as a variety of cultural stalls introducing Oriental cultures, traditional games and food stalls etc. |

The VNS Annual Year-end Party 2006 cum New Year Party 2007 was held on 28th December 2006 at restaurant "Forever", with high - rank officers of University of Social Sciences and Humanities, honorable guests and especially, 400 students studying at the Faculty of Vietnamese Studies and their families in attendance. Everyone who attended the party brought a small gift to exchange with others at the party.

As a part of "Each year one charity house" plan, a group of Faculty of Vietnamese studies' senior students have collected donations from regular undergraduate students of the Faculty. With the logistic support of District 10 Red Cross Association, 12 million Vietnam Dong collected from this campaign has been used to build a house for Mr. Ngo Van Ut's family, a family experiencing major financial difficulties in District 10.
